Research interests:
Daniel returned to academics in 2015 after a long career in finance, hedge funds, and private equity investments. His research interests include Persian and Mughal illustrated manuscripts and paintings; religious, cultural, and artistic dialogues and exchanges between Islamic courts and Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian scholars and artists; and Indian cultural history. Masters dissertation: "Co-opting Christian Symbolism: Dynastic Mythology and Illuminationist Ideology in Imperial Mughal Portraiture of the 16th and 17th Centuries."
Current Research:
Early Mughal paintings and manuscripts of the mid 16th century.
