The Barakat Trust, a UK registered charity which provides financial support for the study and research of the material and visual cultures of Islamic societies, generously provides a scholarship which covers one year's fees for a Muslim student accepted by the Faculty of Oriental Studies to read for the M.St. or M.Phil. in Islamic Art and Archaeology in the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford. Renewal of the scholarship for the second year of the M.Phil. may be granted to candidates who perform well in the qualifying examination, but the grant may not be extended to cover doctoral studies. Applicants should apply to the Barakat Trust in the early spring of the year in which they are seeking admission to the M.St. or M.Phil. Further details of the application process are available here.
